RCS volunteers are the backbone of the organization and are crucial to the success of the Society. Volunteers donate their time, talents and to assure that the projects and programs of the
RCS are successfully completed. We are so grateful to the wonderful volunteers and the Student Intern Corps for their many contributions to our success.
Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. The basic idea is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors and then share your experiences online. Geocaching is enjoyed by people from all age groups, with a strong sense of community and support for the environment.
On Saturday, June 20, a group of RCS members met at the Scheier Natural Area to participate in geocaching. A geo box was placed, listed on the internet and then treasure hunters found the geocache using GPS. If you want to become a geocacher, you can contact Gary Baughn at glbaughn@comcast.net. Or log on to www.geocaching.com.
