Co-hosted by the Rivanna Conservation Society and the Virginia Master Naturalists at the Scheier Natural Area, 917 Long Acre Road, Palmyra, VA. Participants will identify and listen to the sounds of the night which include frogs, toads and other critters that live in the woods, in or around the Scheier ponds. With flashlights, participants will explore Scheier with professional educators and Master Naturalists. The event will conclude with s’mores and hot chocolate around the campfire. Directions: From Charlottesville – Take Rt. 64 East toward Richmond. Take Exit 136 and turn right onto Rt. 15 south toward Palmyra and Fork Union. Go through the town of Palmyra and go over the bridge that spans the Rivanna River. Continue on Rt. 15 and then turn right on Rt. 640 (Haden Martin). Turn right onto Rt. 639 Long Acre Road. In approximately 5 miles the Scheier Natural Area will be on the right.
